We’ve learned via the student newspaper Roar https://roarnews.co.uk/2024/breaking-kcl-israel-society-cancel-controversial-event-over-security-concerns/ that the King’s College London Israel Society was forced to cancel a speaker meeting due to security concerns about threats to an Israeli speaker. The speaker, Ely Lassman, appears to have been targeted because he has served in the IDF. As Israel has conscription, this would effectively mean almost the vast majority of Israeli citizens, having served in the IDF, would not be able to speak on the KCL campus.
